The history of record attendances is a chronological table of record attendances at the point that they were set.
Home attendances: The top twenty all competition and league match attendances are for all time. The top twenty cup and friendly match attendances and all lowest twenty categories are from those that have been recorded since 1938.
Away attendances: The top and lowest twenty away attendances in all categories are from those that have been recorded since 1938
Home/Away fan splits: This data only became commonly available from the start of the 2012/13 season (and some data is still missing, particularly in the minor cups) and these tables are mostly based only on exact confirmed data. This means our sizeable (and approximate) cup away followings at Hayes in 1991 (2,000), Crystal Palace in 2012 (2,000), the Met Police in 1993 (1,000) and Horsham in 1991 (700) as large followings in the league at Wimbledon in 2011 (800), Tamworth in 2011 (600) and Welling in 2004 (500) are not included whereas they would appear if accurate numbers were available. I have included approximations for Manchester United in 2011 (9,000), Brighton in 1992 (7,000), Hayes in 1991 (2,000) and Crystal Palace in 2011 (2,000). It also means that some of our home support that would appear on that table is missing. Some notable (and approximate) examples include Crewe in 2012 (4,300), Dagenham in 2002 (4,000), Tiverton in 2002 (3,800) Weymouth in 2004 (3,700), Barnet in 1993 (3,500) & Stoke in 2012 (3,500).
